Nancy R. Davison is Marsha McCloskey’s sister. She lives in York Maine and had her own gallery, BlueStocking Studio, in York Beach ME from 1985 to 2007. She has had one-person exhibitions in Japan and Sweden, as well as the U.S. She has participated in many two- and three-person shows and has had work chosen for numerous national, regional and local juried exhibitions. She has also been commissioned to do etchings and watercolors for WCBB-TV, Smith College, Graphic Chemical and Ink Company, Old York Historical Society and many private collectors.
Davison learned printmaking from Leonard Baskin at Smith College and set up her own printmaking studio after graduation. Davison’s passion for printmaking in all forms led to her doctoral dissertation, “E.W. Clay: Political Caricaturist of the Jacksonian Era.” She has published several articles on historical American and English prints and lectures on the history of printmaking.
Davison is currently President of the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative/Barn Gallery. She is listed in Who’s Who, Who’s Who in American Women and Who’s Who in American Art.
